Richard and Ockwell fought through a series of flat tires to secure the victory, with a dramatic finish where they launched themselves well over 60 feet on only 3 wheels as the fourth tire had disintegrated over the 20+km stage.
It was a fantastic event for both competitors and spectators alike. The weather defied the rain forecast leaving the competitors with near perfect conditions to enjoy the event.
Local teams found themselves finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively; Martin Gauvin ran a near flawless event to secure second place, a personal best, while Craig Henderson was ecstatic with his 3rd place finish after a scary moment on the penultimate stage where he had lost power steering.
Antoine L'Estage was plagued with mechanical difficulties throughout the weekend and battled hard to claim valuable championship points, falling just short of the podium in 4th place overall.
