Salvador, Brazil -- The Brazil World Rally Team is set to break cover on Vodafone Rally de Portugal at the end of March prior to contesting the remaining 10 rounds of the world championship. Young Brazilian Daniel Oliveira will head the team as part of a three-year driver development programme alongside Portuguese navigator Carlos Magalhaes.
Initially, Oliveira will use the Prodrive-developed Super 2000-version of MINI John Cooper Works-based World Rally Car before switching to the MINI John Cooper Works WRC on Rally d’Italia Sardegna in May. more...
Xevi Pons will enter an Intercontinental Rally Challenge round in a Super 2000 car for the first time when he contests Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles next month in what his team manager Luis Moya has said will be a step into the unknown.
The 31-year-old Pons will drive an M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000 for the Nupel Estrella Galicia squad, which is managed by Moya, a multiple rally-winning co-driver.

Kronos Racing boss Marc van Dalen is more convinced than ever that Peugeot UK driver Guy Wilks will be a contender for the Intercontinental Rally Challenge title in 2011.
Van Dalen’s Belgian team is running Wilks’ Peugeot 207 Super 2000 in the IRC this season, having guided Nicolas Vouilloz and Kris Meeke to the IRC titles in 2008 and 2009 respectively. 5th Overall, Class 3 Winner and Top Two Wheel Drive was the marker laid down by Craig Breen on last weekend’s Wm. Loughman Forestry Rally his final warm-up event before the commencement of the FIA WRC Academy at the end of the month. Breen was in the Motorsport limelight the evening before the event as he appeared on RTE Television's The Daily Show.
