Why is my Birth date necessary for registration?

Your date of birth is needed to verify that you are of legal age to access and use the WRS Network. You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to register for the WRS Network and have parental or guardian consent to use the WRS Network if you’re under the age of nineteen (19) (see “Terms and Conditions”). WRS requires users to provide their date of birth for age verification purposes in order to protect minors and the WRS community at large. By requiring users to provide their date of birth during registration, we avoid having to use other methods of age verification such as requesting Credit Card information or more detailed personal information.

What is my Email address used for?

Your email address is used to verify your account during registration to the WRS Network and to identify your account when you are logging in to or logging out of a session on the WRS Network. Your email is also used for aggressive notification purposes set during account registration, but you can customize or opt-out of receiving email notifications altogether at any time by going into your account settings and checking/un-checking the appropriate fields.

Your email address may also be used by WRS to contact you in order to resend you your password in the event that you happen to forget it.

Your email address may be entered to receive WRS’ electronic newsletter when circulation is initiated. You can un-subscribe to this Newsletter at anytime.
